The past two weeks had me flying to Melbourne > Armadale > Perth > Brisbane > Port Macquarie. And to Sydney in between.
Half way through these trips on 1 June I knew QANTAS was due to change their baggage policy. You are now only allowed one item of luggage no more than 23kg (32kg QANTAS Club members). Go over that allowance and you’re hit with $10 per kg and/or $30 per item.
Photographers often travel with large amounts of gear and it’s smart to spread it across several bags in case one goes missing. The new QANTAS costs will either be passed onto clients or more likely push more of us onto Virgin Australia.
