To overcome this, a two year intensive marketing strategy identified key messages best illustrated with photographs. Local Schools, Local Decisions empowers Principals to manage the promotion and marketing of their schools. Market research by the Department of Education revealed misconceptions about the school.

With extensive experience in school promotions and education marketing photography Robert Edwards was commissioned to document the school community. Enrolment numbers at Chatswood are now growing at 15%, the school has a better profile, and the community has a more informed and positive opinion. The Education Department has cited Chatswood High School as an example for other schools and featured it in the regional annual report.
